CHARLES LINDO APPOINTED DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF TOURISM

Oranjestad- The St. Eustatius Tourism Development Foundation has appointed Mr. Charles Lindo Deputy Director of Tourism effective January 01, 2008. The Johnson & Wales graduate is a native of St. Eustatius and has some ten years hospitality sector experience. As Deputy Director, Mr. Lindo will hold responsibility for Training and Quality Assurance. His main tasks includes: providing technical support in the areas of management, training and quality assurance, coordinating the implementation of training and education programmes, liaise with the hospitality sector operators on matters
pertaining to their development within the industry; promoting quality achievement and performance improvement throughout St. Eustatius’ hospitality sector among others.

This is the first time such a position has been created within the St. Eustatius Tourism Development Foundation. “I am optimistic about this new responsibility and look forward to a positive and productive working relationship with key partners in the hospitality sector. If tourism in St. Eustatius is to be successful, we must work on building the capacity of workers in the tourism/hospitality sector. We must also be prepared to offer a quality tourism product”, says Mr.Lindo.

Mr. Lindo holds degrees from Johnson & Wales University in Business-Hospitality Management, Hotel & Restaurant Management and Food & Beverage Management. He has managed several leading hospitality operations on St. Maarten, Aruba, Curacao and California.
